Source hierarchy

Claims are checked in this order: ESDC and CRA publications first, then Statistics Canada surveys, then Revenu Québec and provincial pages, then provider documents (promoter lists, fee schedules, withdrawal forms), then OSC investor-education material for investing concepts. A weaker source never overrules a stronger one.

Verify-live rule

Indexed dollar figures carry "verify live" pointers to the live source because rules, thresholds, and forms change. A figure tagged 2026-only is a snapshot, not a promise.

Unknowns stay labeled

Where evidence conflicts or a workflow needs direct confirmation, the page says unclear or unknown instead of guessing. Provider comparisons exclude unverified details by default rather than filling gaps with assumptions.

Neutrality charter

There are no rankings, scores, star ratings, paid placements, or endorsements. Providers appear because families ask about them, ordered by review state — never by payment. No provider can buy a recommendation, a ranking, or a more favourable conclusion. Grant and fee facts are shown; judgments are left to the reader with questions to ask.

Review cadence

Grant, withdrawal, and provincial figures are re-verified quarterly against live sources; cost snapshots against university pages; provider profiles on their review dates. Dates move only when a real review happens — never to look fresh.

Report errors through the contact page with the page URL, the disputed sentence, and the official source that supports the change. Material corrections are logged below and reflected with a new reviewed date on the affected page.
